A-level results - anyone else a nervous wreck?

I've got the heebejeebees about Thursday's result. If I feel like this I dread to think how my daughter is. She's been really moody all week. She needs 3As to get into her first choice school for medicine. So much pressure! She worked hard and I'm confident but I'm not sure how we'll all cope if she doesn't do it. Resits aren't an option, I hear. Got any good distraction techniques?

Mine is heading off to the V Festival tomorrow morning with his mates. I'm furious with him! Priorities???? Not sure whether that shows confidence, arrogance or stupidity.

This is my third time round and it doesn't get any easier, though the extra pressure of fees hike / no second chance with resits / increased number of applicants isn't helping matters. My fingers are crossed for you all!

Walking on egg shells here. He worked so hard so of course I'll be proud of him however he's done. Roll on tomorrow - want to get it over and done with now. Takes me back to getting my own results, I was a total wreck then too!

I hope none of you will need it but just in case things don't turn out as expected here's the exams helpline telephone number: 0808 100 8000 . They provides expert information and advice to students who receive higher or lower exam results than expected and want to change their plans.

They can also help with FE/HE courses, vocational training, remarks and retakes, subject choices, gap year options, funding, moving away from home to study and finding employment.

Good Luck!

OMG! Am so nervous!! Trying to hold it together for the sake of my son - who seems as cool as a cucumber - but feel like I'm going to combust! He's decided only his first choice will do and if he doesn't get the grades then he's adamant he'll resit and go next year, despite the fact that it's going to cost him/us so much more. There's no reasoning with him. We're all off to the cinema tonight to keep our minds off things.

Mine needs 3A's too (for Economics) - not a particularly top flight uni either. Seems a B grade is now a fail...with little option to make good any mistakes and get those A's. She took all exams at one sitting so has no idea how she has done (school don't offer AS because of the re-sit culture). Tried to distract mine by looking for temp jobs but not a jot out there...desperate really...
