SEN Statement

The SEN department at Hummersknott prides itself on being a well motivated team, dedicated to encouraging and supporting pupils to reach their potential. Support is provided by
* in class support
* withdrawal for literacy, numeracy and study skills
* provision of an SEN homework club 3-4 nights per week

In a recent Ofsted the report said ' There is good support for students with learning difficulties and/or disabilities' they ' do well and make good progress'

We currently have a HEADWAY GROUP in Y7/8 for pupils with poor literacy skills and who are working out of their KS.

As many of us do, AXA Insurance and Road Safety Analysis believe that one child casualty on Britain’s roads is too much.
