Please note: Independent schools frequently offer IGCSEs or other qualifications alongside or as an alternative to GCSE. The DfE does not record performance data for these exams so independent school GCSE data is frequently misleading; parents should check the results with the schools.

Special Education Needs

The College offers full support for all students who attain the entry criteria. Students are asked about special educational or physical needs at their advisory interview prior to their start at college. All students have a Personal Tutor who makes arrangements for the student to access any additional support they may need while at college. The Personal Tutor also teaches the students so there is ample opportunity for student and tutor to talk. Extra support is available in the Skills Improvement Centre for literacy, numeracy and IT and all subjects hold weekly clinics. Counselling is available on four days of the week and the college has a Health Visitor and Welfare Officer. The Examinations Officer liaises with the examination boards for students with special examination requirements. The college has disabled access to most of its accommodation and provides specialist toilet facilities.
