Special Education Needs Survey

SEN Statement

At Ilfracombe C of E Junior School, we aim to provide a broad and balanced, personalised education that will develop the best in every child and enable them to grow into confident, independent young people.

We are fully committed to the principle of inclusion, and have a number of children attending this school with a range of SEN. Every child in the school has a personal target book which enables class teachers to work closely with the children in setting achievable realistic targets to raise their attainment and self esteem. Parents are actively encouraged to be involved with their child's learning and their views are highly valued.

We employ a large number of experienced support staff who work closely with class teachers and the school's Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator, to provide effective in class support for any children experiencing difficulties with their learning.

Understanding the road risks in your local area

As many of us do, AXA Insurance and Road Safety Analysis believe that one child casualty on Britain’s roads is too much.

The data is presented by local area in order to aid the understanding of risk – it’s not just about killed or seriously injured, but about any incident reported to the police. Although road safety issues may arise due to a myriad of different reasons including proximity to busy roads and local speed limits, schools play a pivotal role in mitigating these risks by investing time in road safety education programmes.
