What the school says...

Claremont is a wonderful school. Set across two sites of extraordinary beauty, it distinguishes itself in this area of East Sussex as a co-educational day and boarding school for students aged 1 to 18 years. Established in 1925, The Nursery, Pre-Prep and Prep School is set on an 125 acre estate in St Leonards and educates over 400 students. In 2011, Claremont Senior School was founded in the historic village of Bodiam and is now a well-established centre of learning with over 310 pupils today, a vibrant Sixth Form and two newly refurbished boarding houses.

A proven track record in preparing students thoroughly for the challenges of Senior School and for GCSE and A’ Levels. This is evident in the broad and diverse range of highly regarded universities our students go to each year. The school culture is shaped by a determination to provide opportunities for all abilities and interests. Being able to prepare young people for Maths degrees at Harvard as effectively as for Fashion courses in London is something the staff are deeply proud of.

In November 2023, Claremont was judged to be ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted in all categories for a fourth successive time.

Special Education Needs

Claremont is committed to being an inclusive school. Our intention is to help every child who comes to our school to enjoy positive learning experiences and to achieve their full potential. We offer a calm, caring environment and compassionate, committed staff who are keen to help your child succeed and also to form a close working partnership with you. In the classrooms, all teachers are required to teach pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND); they provide quality first teaching which takes account of the particular individual needs of pupils with SEND. A more detailed report of how we can support your child can be found on our website: www.claremontschool.co.uk/learning/learning-support/
