Special Education Needs Survey

SEN Statement

Minehead First School is proud to host a specialist SEN resource base for up to 12 pupils. The Resource base takes pupils from across West Somerset who have complex special needs. Entry to the RB is via the complex panel. We are commited to inclusion although we believe that inclusion is not a location. All children in the RB have specialist teaching in a small group with a high level of adult support and access to a mainstream class for activities that they are able to cope with.
We have a disabled bathroom (including a shower) and a variety of outside equipment including two disabled tricycles. There is a teacher in charge of the RB and a dedicated team of assistants.

Understanding the road risks in your local area

As many of us do, AXA Insurance and Road Safety Analysis believe that one child casualty on Britain’s roads is too much.

The data is presented by local area in order to aid the understanding of risk – it’s not just about killed or seriously injured, but about any incident reported to the police. Although road safety issues may arise due to a myriad of different reasons including proximity to busy roads and local speed limits, schools play a pivotal role in mitigating these risks by investing time in road safety education programmes.
