What says..

There’s an air of enjoyment, be it among strings players rehearsing Brahms up in the eaves, dancers practising their moves for the forthcoming musical in the stylish dance studio-cum-assembly hall or pupils engrossed in a neurodiversity workshop in the swanky STEMlab. We enjoyed lively conversation over tasty lunch in the basement dining room, recently reinvented with exposed brick and sage green walls as ‘Lilibet’s’ in tribute to the school’s late patron. What The Good Schools Guide says

Headmistress

Since 2020, Laura Lamont, formerly deputy head at City of London School for Girls. After completing a degree in history of art at Bristol (she teaches it to year 5s), she spent two years travelling the seas on cruise ships, giving lectures on 19th-century American and European art. When an opportunity arose at her childhood primary on the Isle of Mull, she was inspired to move into teaching, leading her to do a PGCE and later an MA in education at the University of Hertfordshire. On her first visit to QCPS, she was ‘blown away by how lovely it was and a sense of coming home’. The feeling of ‘hygge’ she experienced is still very much present and her pride in the school is evident.

Glamorous, sassy and super smart....

Special Education Needs

The Learning Support Department plays a vital role at QCPS and we pride ourselves in the knowledge that we get to know the girls that we teach as individuals. We provide caring and expert support so that any pupil, irrespective of their individual needs, can reach their full potential, be challenged and extended where needed, and improve their self-esteem, preparing them for life beyond QCPS. We recognise that all our girls put in great effort to overcome their difficulties or weaknesses; they need encouragement and support both at school and at home to do this. We are proud of the progress made by our girls and we take great pleasure in celebrating their strengths and achievements.
