It’s a good question and the answer will depend on who you ask.
The Good Schools Guide Education Consultants is a team of 28 consultants and two administrators. We have a range of professional experience and expertise but what really matters is that we all care deeply about children and the quality of education they receive.
We are all parents. Many of us have faced challenges in the education of our children. In some cases, this is to do with frequent relocations; some of us have children with special educational needs – whether difficulties or exceptional gifts – or both. Some of us have faced concerns about where to live, a commute, social or family questions.
A “good” school?
All of us know that there is no such thing as a “good school” which would suit every child. Our approach is always to look at your child, his or her needs, personality and character. We consider your family and what would enhance rather than inhibit your quality of life.
We look at far more than simply a school and its results but at every aspect of the choices you need to make to ensure the right school for each child and the right kind of life for the whole family while schooling is at the heart of it.
Our education consultants
Our consultants have individual specialisms – boarding schools, the International Baccalaureate, girls’ education, Special Educational Needs, state schools, specialist arts schools – and so on. Many of us speak a foreign language – so do ask if you need to use a language other than English.
But – what we all have in common is our belief in what we say on each page of our website:
Contact us at: email@example.com or 0203 286 6824 or +44 203 286 6824 from overseas to speak to our administrator.

We have been very impressed with the Good Schools Guide. From our first contact with administrative team, it was clear that we were dealing with a professional organisation. They were very helpful finding the right package for our needs. Thereafter, their experienced consultant asked insightful questions and was able to understand our individual education needs almost immediately. Her knowledge of the local school environment and how best to navigate it have been invaluable. She has gone beyond the professional expectations we had of an education consultant.
We have a very comforting sense of having found a partner in the…
While there is no such thing as the “perfect” school and a good school for one child will not be a good school for another, there is no question that UK schools have a deserved world-wide reputation for all-round excellence. The Good Schools Guide Education Consultants regularly help children to gain places at all the top schools in the country.
An education consultant is an independent consultant who helps parents / guardians decide on all aspects of their children's education. The Good Schools Guide Education Consultants has two education consultants specialising in Kent - Catriona Prest and Bernadette John.
