The Brilliant Club is a charity that exists to widen access to highly-selective universities for pupils from under-represented groups. The charity does this by recruiting, training and placing doctoral and postdoctoral researchers in non-selective state schools.
PhD tutors deliver programmes of university-style tutorials to small groups of pupils, from Year 6 through to Year 12. The aim is to develop the knowledge, skills and ambition that help those pupils to secure places at highly-selective universities. The charity is currently working with nearly 300 schools and colleges in London and the South East, the Midlands, the North West, North East, East of England, South West and South Coast regions.
