Future Foundations

Youth training programmes. Work directly with schools and also offer several residential training programmes open to all students aged 15-19, some of which are fully funded.

Their mission is to "create a generation of inspirational, optimistic young people who are leaders in their own lives and within society" by focussing on developing confidence and a sense of personal responsibility.

Over the past decade they have worked with some 12,000 students in state and independent schools. Future Foundations programmes have been externally evaluated by the University of Derby and received endorsements from two successive governments.

Future Foundations aim to develop creativity, enterprise, self-confidence, risk taking, energy, motivation and leadership through experiential learning. Group plenaries, workshops, team challenges, 1:1 coaching and reflection sessions give children practical experiences to demonstrate their capabilities to themselves and others.

Residential training programmes include Global Social Leaders, Bright Futures and the McKinsey Leadership Academy.

Finding a state grammar school

There are currently around 164 state funded grammar schools located in 36 English local authorities, with around 167,000 pupils between them. There are a further 69 grammar schools in Northern Ireland, but none in Wales or Scotland.
