China schoolsThis is a snapshot overview of schools in Hong Kong that are considered (although not necessarily chosen) by English-speaking expat parents. Some of them have just been mentioned by parents, and some of them might sound like possibilities but ...aren't.

Schools selected for full GSGI review are noted with    next to their names, meaning that school has been researched, selected, visited and written up by our own editor.

Those reviews for Hong Kong schools are currently in the pipeline and will be published as soon as completed.

If there is no banner next to the school, it means we do not have enough reliable and positive reports from parents to warrant coverage at this time.

See general information on schooling in Hong Kong under the "Hong Kong Educational Overview".

  • Where to find a state grammar school

Identifying and locating grammar schools. Grammar schools are located in 36 English local authorities. Almost half of these are considered 'selective authorities' (eg Kent and Buckinghamshire), where around one in five local children are selected for grammar school entry based on ability.
