Predominantly a homely boarding school (some weekly, but mainly full, boarders) with an element of day pupils, aiming for high standards in all areas. It’s genuinely perceived by most students as being 'cool' to have high aspirations and to succeed.
It seems a relaxed and happy place, being carried forward by dynamic leadership. Prospective parents might be easier seduced by the window-dressing of wealthier schools nearer Nairobi, as well as the fact Greensteds is less racially mixed than some of the schools, but they should weigh it up beside its other obvious advantages - it’s notably cheaper as well as further away from the temptations of the city, for instance.
One expat mother said, 'The kids come out of Greensteds happy, level-headed and well-integrated.'
