Since 2006, Robert Jones (40s). Read economics at LSE and taught in Hong Kong for four years before returning to the UK. Moved to Haydon in 1999 and quickly moved up the ranks to become assistant head, then head. Married to drama teacher. Two sons – one grown up, one at primary school. Originally from Manchester, he’s a huge Man United fan and looks rather like an ex-professional footballer himself. Still plays football and coaches Ascot United under 7s (his son plays for the team) and keeps fit by running a number of half marathons each year.

Special Education Needs
Haydon is a mixed ability foundation school. We have 30 Statements and 288 on our SEN list. The range of SEN is wide ranging from those with Spld to students with a physical disability. We aim to enable all pupils to have access to a broad, balanced stimulating and challenging curriculum recognising that some children require special educational provision in order to fulfill their potential. Haydon is committed to inclusion. The school is fully accessible. We have a learning support unit which teaches Yr 7 English to weakest students having been identiied via testing and primary records. Some students only following one modern foreign language do Extra English lessons in Year 7, 8 & 9. The Department also provides in-class support and teaches a number of students on a one-one basis.
