Special Education Needs
Sarah Bonnell provides for SEN, EMA and EAL by way of the curriculum access team. This comprises of TAs and LSTs that are trained and experienced in SEN and EAL. Each member of the curriculum access staff is assigned to a designated caseload of students for whom they become their keyworker. The team assists students in accessing the school and the curriculum. This is done by way of in class support, working with departments and group work. Some of the group work that takes place is Speech & Language, Dyslexia programmes, Ruth Miskin Literacy2 and more. The curriculum access team also ensures that there are entry level courses in mainstream subjects for less able students and students with SEN. The team also provides access arrangements for SEN children so that they can participate fully in the exams. The curriculum access team aims to make school accessible to all students and is always working on new ways by which to do this.
