Special Education Needs

The Good Schools uide writes: Baginton Fields School is a community special school catering for pupipls with severe and complex needs including autistic spectrum disorders. In addition pupils may have a range of needs including physical/mobility difficulties, Down's syndrome, sensory impairments, specific learning difficulties, Tourette syndrome, Epilepsy, Prader-Willi syndrome, Rett syndrome and behavioural difficulties includng challenging behaviours, emotional and behavioural difficulties, ADD/ADHD, and obsessive-compulsive disorder. A range of therapies are used where appropriate, these include: aromatherapy, art therapy, dance movement therapy, drama therapy, hydrotherapy, music therapy, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, Rebound therapy, and Speech and language therapy. Makaton, PECS, sensory integration, TEACCH etc are employed where beneficial to the learner.
