What the school says...

Hipperholme Grammar School pupils flourish in an environment which is welcoming yet challenging where all are encouraged to be the best they can be. Every pupil is guided on a path of personal enrichment and self-fulfilment, enabling them to maximise their talents and interests and equipping them with a confident approach to life, an enquiring mind and a generous heart.

Academically, our examination results are excellent, with pupils exceeding their targets and securing very good grades. We believe smaller class sizes matter, ensuring that every pupil is given individual attention to maximise their educational and personal development.

The Junior School offers a broad, stimulating and rich curriculum. There is a thriving extra-curricular programme where children can enjoy dance, music and nature clubs to name but a few.

The Senior School, established in 1648, upholds traditional values. At the same time, we offer a varied and challenging curriculum which prepares pupils for the modern, international world. A broad range of Academic, Music and Sports Scholarships is available to give talented pupils the best start in life. Our extensive programme of extra-curricular activities ensures pupils personal development is maximised. Our aim is that our pupils develop into committed, independent students who are knowledgeable and appreciative of the contribution they can make to their local community and the wider world.

Please note: Independent schools frequently offer IGCSEs or other qualifications alongside or as an alternative to GCSE. The DfE does not record performance data for these exams so independent school GCSE data is frequently misleading; parents should check the results with the schools.
