Special Education Needs
At St Anthony's we aim to ensure that all pupil needs, particularly those with SEN, are met by a personalised curriculum and strong pastoral care. We aim to identify all needs early, and effectively manage transition, at all key stages from KS2 to entry to the world of work, college and university. Our SEN provision uses our key resource, an experienced and stable staff, to provide a happy and secure working environment taking into account the needs of the individual working in partnership with students, parents and other agencies. During our Ofsted Inspection the school was graded 1 for Inclusion and 2 for SEN (the highest two grades). The school was described as: 'a very good school with some excellent features'. St Anthony's works in partnership with diocesan and local authority schools across the region on a huge range of initiatives. It was invited to become a Beacon School by the DfES (while this initiative was in place) and has been a Technology College since 1999. Results in our core subjects of English, Mathematics, Science, Modern Foreign Languages are a strength. The curriculum offered is very broad at KS3 and KS4 with 35 subjects offered to advanced level.
