What the school says...
Entrance examinations for entry at ages 11-13 consist of: 11 - 3 VR exams administered by the LEA. Entry at Yr 10 and above by application to the school. The school is listed by Ofsted as an outstanding school having received exemplary inspection reports in 1999 and 2005. In October 2006 the Business and Economics Departments were inspected by Ofsted and graded as outstanding. In addition to academic excellence the school excels at sport and is extremely proud of the friendly and positive ethos which prevails.

Since 2000, Stephen Nokes MA PGCE (50s). Educated at St John’s College, Southsea followed by Swansea University, where he read history and politics, then St John’s College Oxford (history and PGCE) where he met his wife, Diana Rose, head teacher at the Royal Masonic School.
