What the school says...

Abbey Gate College is a successful and happy school for pupils aged 4 -18. We emphasise the importance of building self-esteem in a caring environment. Award-winning gardens and the idyllic locations of Aldford and Saighton Grange ensure that children learn in a safe environment. Aldford School for Juniors boasts extensive playing fields and ecology park. They also have weekly use of the extensive facilities at the Senior School.

Investment in facilities continues with the next future development and extensions planned for the near future.

The extra curricular programme provides opportunities for pupils to experience challenge. The renowned Music Department provides unique enrichment with strong links to Chester Cathedral; the choir sing annually at St Pauls Cathedral and tour overseas. Drama, Sport and the Duke of Edinburgh Award are all thriving and outdoor adventure and leadership courses help to build confidence and teamwork.

Entrance examinations consist of: 4+ - Interview with parent and child. 11 - verbal, non verbal, quantitative and spatial, including a written English paper and an interview.

Thank the school

Parents and pupils often have cause to acknowledge the help and support they have received from their schools, for example in helping in the choice of further education or careers. "Say thank you" allows you to send a quick note of appreciation to the school in general or to an individual teacher.

This is a thank you to your school, teacher or careers adviser who helped you to get where you are now.

Please fill in the fields below, which we will transform into a letter of thanks from you to them.

Leave blank if you want to thank the school as a whole

Years you were there

Can be left blank but, if you can, think of a few words that will bring a smile.
