Since 2005, Daryll Chapman, originally from Kenilworth in Warwickshire, grew up in Derbyshire. Started his career playing professional football for Derby before training to become a PE teacher at a specialist college for physical education in Bedfordshire. After four years teaching at Cavendish School in Hemel Hempstead, he became head of PE at Misbourne School, Bucks, later becoming deputy head at a school in Aylesbury. Daryll joined Okehampton College in 2001 as vice principal, taking on the role of principal four years later.
