Thank the school

Parents and pupils often have cause to acknowledge the help and support they have received from their schools, for example in helping in the choice of further education or careers. "Say thank you" allows you to send a quick note of appreciation to the school in general or to an individual teacher.

This is a thank you to your school, teacher or careers adviser who helped you to get where you are now.

Please fill in the fields below, which we will transform into a letter of thanks from you to them.

Leave blank if you want to thank the school as a whole

Years you were there

Can be left blank but, if you can, think of a few words that will bring a smile.

Special Education Needs

Kingswode Hoe School is an all aged mixed school for pupils with moderate learning difficulties. All pupils have a statement of SEN and are admitted to the school by Essex LEA. We offer a broad and balanced curriculum which includes the National Curriculum. In addition we focus on speech, language and communication through the Social Use of Language Programme (SULP)and on social skills with particular emphasis on raising self esteem. The school runs a 'buddy' system and a School Council for pupils. In KS4, we offer a range of accreditation including GCSE (maths), Entry Level & ASDAN, as well as work experience (3 sessions in Y11) and college link courses in Y10 and Y11. We work closely with the Connexions service to ensure a smooth transition post 16. We are currently developing Outreach provision, allowing us to work with mainstream primary and secondary schools to support SEN pupils and to allow our pupils to have some mainstream experience. We are experienced with a range of pupils including those with Asperger's syndrome, Down's syndrome, Fragile X, Kleinfelter's; ADHD, ADD, ODD, speech & language difficulties, dyspraxia, dyslexia, dyscalculia and emotional difficulties.
