What the school says...

As the UK's only Fusion School, St Bees is different. With a focus on merging the best educational elements of the West and the East, this Fusion concept equally balances development of academics alongside character development. Set within 250 acres of beautiful Cumbrian countryside, with the beach a ten minute walk away, St Bees is the safest place in England to live. Our school is small - but that means we offer the ability for intensive one-to-one mentoring and a 'Made to Measure' education. All students are individuals at St Bees and we ensure that each and every student can exceed their potential.

Further enhancing our 'West meets East' concept, we have two schools in China, allowing a free-flow of movement between the two schools to create global-ready citizens for the world of tomorrow.

All students learn Mandarin from Year 7 and take part in a weekly 'Global Awareness Programme' with students across the school, designed to develop their character traits such as leadership, teamwork, public speaking and confidence.

With numerous sporting facilities, our own indoor heated swimming pool, and lying on the frindge of the UNESCO World Heritage National Park, there is no time to sit and get bored at St Bees! Our boarding community is a small, close-knit family comprised of students from all over the world.

St Bees is a place where every individual child can shine. We are here to give them the wings... they then learn to fly.

International Study Centre - school has a linked, international study centre for overseas students wishing to improve their English.

Please note: Independent schools frequently offer IGCSEs or other qualifications alongside or as an alternative to GCSE. The DfE does not record performance data for these exams so independent school GCSE data is frequently misleading; parents should check the results with the schools.
