What the school says...

Converted to an academy 2011.

What the parents say...

Wyedean is a great school, it has a very strong ethos of whole school community. The new Headteacher and leadership team have a shared and positive vision for the school, they know the importance of listening to teachers, pupils and parents in order for the school to pull together to continue to be a great learning community for all involved.

As a parent I have watched my son and daughter grow academically and personally whilst at Wyedean School. They, and I, were shocked to hear the news that Wyedean had done so badly in their previous Ofsted inspection. Brilliant results summer 2014 at GCSE and AS have confirm what my kids have been saying for years: "I learn everyday, I enjoy school, the teachers work hard, I feel safe". I am very pleased the inspection report (on the Wyedean website) picked up on the improvements across the board e.g. better teaching and feedback, wide range of extra-curricular activities and excellent results. Especially well done to the teachers, leadership team and support staff who must have had a torrid year under scrutiny (and facing some harsh criticism from parents). I heard some really unfair whingeing and moaning from some parents. Sedbury is not an "easy" catchment area and there are some very challenging criminal and socio-economic problems there. I know this because I work for the Police. I am sure Wyedean School will not be taking their foot off the pedal, but instead drive onwards confidently. Well done.

Thank the school

Parents and pupils often have cause to acknowledge the help and support they have received from their schools, for example in helping in the choice of further education or careers. "Say thank you" allows you to send a quick note of appreciation to the school in general or to an individual teacher.

This is a thank you to your school, teacher or careers adviser who helped you to get where you are now.

Please fill in the fields below, which we will transform into a letter of thanks from you to them.

Leave blank if you want to thank the school as a whole

Years you were there

Can be left blank but, if you can, think of a few words that will bring a smile.
