He began his career in investment banking before retraining as an English teacher in 2004; then rose rapidly after being dubbed Outstanding New Teacher of the Year (2007) by the National Teaching Awards, through posts as head of English (Sackville School, East Grinstead) and deputy head (Blatchington Mill, Hove). He’s resourceful and decisive, empowers his teaching team to lead and role model leadership for the pupils, and this delegation means he can also turn his powerful brain to looking at business partnerships to help with the funding crisis that dogs...
