Since April 2020, Marian Curran (40s), previously vice principal. Raised and state educated in west London where future ambitions were a toss-up between education and interior design. The former won ‘because education opens doors’, though her bright yellow office with black accents and tastefully positioned student art (changed termly) suggests she might have been just as successful in the latter. Probably wouldn’t have scratched her itch to bring about social change, though, which has featured heavily throughout her career. Indeed, following her theology degree from Oxford, her first job was to inspire young people in care to remain in education. Following various other roles in London schools and colleges, she taught in Japan two years, then returned to do her masters in contemporary sociology, politics and economics at Lancaster.
