Please note: Independent schools frequently offer IGCSEs or other qualifications alongside or as an alternative to GCSE. The DfE does not record performance data for these exams so independent school GCSE data is frequently misleading; parents should check the results with the schools.

Special Education Needs

The Centre has a Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator (SENCO) who is aware of and operates the statutory planning and review procedure for students with a Statement of Special Educational Needs. The SENCO is also responsible for planning and reviewing the Individual Educational Plans/Personal Education Plans of all students who are deemed to be at School Action Plus on the Code of Practice. Our students are young people whose needs have not been met, or cannot currently be met, within the setting of a mainstream school. Each individual is highly likely to display a range of emotional and behavioural difficulties and many have become profoundly disaffected and disengaged from the formal learning process. Some may have literacy difficulties
