What the school says...
Hereford Sixth form College is a maintained sixth form college. It regularly gains one of the highest A level points scores per entry of nearly 100 sixth form colleges nationally and was rated Outstanding by Ofsted in all aspects of its work. The college was awarded Learning and Skills Beacon Status by the Department for education for its outstanding contribution to 16-19 education but it is more than a place to gain qualifications. It is a bridge between school and university where students develop skills, make new friends and become members of a vibrant and caring community. The college has excellent, purpose built facilities including a performing arts centre, recital room, recording studios, fitness centre, sportshall and all-weather pitches and a variety of student study and social spaces. The college offers a broad education in a caring and supportive environment which enables students to gain excellent results and participate in a wide variety of activities such as music, sport, drama and the Duke of Edinburgh Award. Above all the college is an enjoyable and exciting place in which to study. ...Read more

Awarded an OBE for services to education in 2013, Jonathan Godfrey wears his considerable success lightly. An Oxford chemist, he has made his career in the sixth form college world, having been a deputy principal at the nearby Worcester Sixth Form College before taking up this post in 1997. He is deeply committed to the college and to the sector, chairing the national Sixth Form College Association since 2011. Sharp, generous about colleagues,
