What the school says...
Our small school has been fortunate enough to be on the OFSTED outstanding schools' list four times in succession making it a consistently outstanding school since 1998. We have been commended for our innovative curriculum, our high standards, our pupils' excellent behaviour and our work with children with a special educational need. At our last OFSTED inspection we achieved top marks across the board. We also hold the Leading Parent Partnership Award for the work we do to involve parents in their child's education. We believe that strong partnerships with home are crucial.

Special Education Needs
Saint Teresa's RC Primary is a small school with a very supportive ethos. We believe that every child is entitled to the very best education we can provide. We have been fortunate enough to be on the OFSTED 'outstanding schools' list twice following our last two inspections. This is an incredible achievement and is testament to the hard work and dedication of everyone involved with our school. Children with a special educational need are given encouragement, challenge and support. We celebrate all successes and encourage children to be responsible for themselves and their environment. We have a school where respect for each other, tolerance, good manners and excellent behaviour are at the forefront of everything we do. As a small school we are able to really get to know our children and to ensure that all types of learners, not only those with a special need are supported. We have outstanding links to Ladywood Special school, some of their children have appropriate lessons at St Teresa's and our children use their superb facilities. Their expertise is always available to us and many of our staff have benefited from 'learning visits' to their school.

Further reading
If there are more applicants to a school than it has places for, who gets in is determined by which applicants best fulfil the admissions criteria.
Admissions criteria are often complicated, and may change from year to year. The best source of information is usually the relevant local authority website, but once you have set your sights on a school it is a good idea to ask them how they see things panning out for the year that you are interested in.
Many schools admit children based on distance from the school or a fixed catchment area. For such schools, the cut-off distance will vary from year to year, especially if the school give priority to siblings, and the pattern will be of a central core with outliers (who will mostly be siblings). Schools that admit on the basis of academic or religious selection will have a much more scattered pattern.
