What The Good Schools Guide says..
Every half term pupils and staff don their wellies and clear debris from the stream that flows through the school and off through the Bull Pit Meadow to join the River Usk. There are also community litter picking activities at lunchtimes and a popular eco committee. On our visit the sports hall had been taken over by a year 7 activity day. An external leader was helping groups build F1 cars to be raced later. Students had been appointed roles like project manager and design lead. French, German, Mandarin and Welsh are taught from year 7. On average half of students choose one language or more at GCSE...

Five feeder primary schools but the large catchment area covers 26 schools. Open days followed by induction days help with transition from small village schools to secondary school. Regular inter-school sports tournaments help younger ones get to know the site.
For sixth form entry, minimum of five GCSE grade 4s and at least a 6 in chosen subjects is preferred.
