International Baccalaureate: diploma - the diploma is the familiar A-level equivalent.

Since 2002, Dr Daniel Hovde PhD (50s), who came to the granite city from the jungles of Sumatra, where he was head of an International Services contract school, contracted to Chevron. Before that he taught in the Canadian Academy in Japan, which was founded as a missionary school in 1913 and was home to some 35 different nationalities. Married to Karol, a counsellor with the school (they adopted their daughter in China whilst in the Far East), educated in Seattle, studying history, social studies and (majoring in) education from Washington State University, followed...
