Special Education Needs

Our school provides a city wide provision for Glasgow City Council, and children of other Local Authorities (should they wish to purchase a place from GCC). The nursery department offers an appropriate curriculum for 2-3 year old children (birth to 3 curriculum) and the 3-5 Curriculum. The children may be placed for a detailed assessment of their additional support needs,as they may have more than a physical impairment as a barrier to learning. Our nursery, and early years primary children, may transfer to mainstream provision or other specialist provision. Our Primary children follow the 5-14 curriculum at a pace that suits them, which may mean elaboration of the curriculum for some children. All of our children have a phyical impairment and/or medical need, and many children have a range of additional needs. The Medical and Therapy Team work with education staff to ensure individual needs are met for all the children, accessing external support services as required e.g. Sensory Support.
