What The Good Schools Guide says..
WOW. Didn’t recognise the place. Totally transformed since our last visit and some of the most exciting (and cleverly sited to act as a windbreak) skool buildings we have ever seen... One is always told to beware the skinny chef,...
What the school says...
St Mary's is a co-educational Prep School with its own Kindergarten on site. It is mainly a day school with a flexible boarding facility. Day children can stay from 7.30 am (breakfast club in school) right through to 7.30 pm, by which time they will have done their prep and had supper. Kindergarten can stay till 4 pm.
The new Hamilton Building has been named after the school's founder Mr John Hamilton who founded St. Mary's in 1895 on its current site in Abbey Park. Thank the school
Parents and pupils often have cause to acknowledge the help and support they have received from their schools, for example in helping in the choice of further education or careers. "Say thank you" allows you to send a quick note of appreciation to the school in general or to an individual teacher.
This is a thank you to your school, teacher or careers adviser who helped you to get where you are now.
Please fill in the fields below, which we will transform into a letter of thanks from you to them.

Pheasant (plucking lessons and all) on the menu next...
Since 2010, Mr William (Liam) Harvey BEd (40s). The son of a local doc, and an FP, he went on to George Watson's followed by a BEd in PE at Liverpool John Moores University. Taught PE to A level in the state secondary sector before moving to Belhaven as housemaster and head of history and PE.
Special Education Needs
At St Mary's, children are initially screened when joining school to identify any particular learning needs. If necessary, support is provided through a 35 minute one-to-one lesson twice a week. These lessons are individually tailored to the particular needs of each pupil. Our Additional Support for Learning Department is staffed by two experienced and appropriately qualified teachers.
