Parents are very pleased with the school, many jumping through hoops to secure places. The pupils work long hours – the additional English language means more hours than usual – so parents should be clear on this before they enrol their children. CFBL‘s education is based on bilingual and bi-cultural teaching methods accredited by the French Ministry for Education. CFBL is part of the AEFE, a network of over 500 schools worldwide.
CFBL can welcome, in its Victorian renovated school in Kentish Town, up to 700 French-speaking pupils from Nursery to Year 10.
In primary school, each class is taught half of the time by a French native teacher and the other half by an English native teacher. In secondary school, CFBL offers two streams: multilingual or intensified English. This curriculum prepares the pupils for their entry into the upper secondary section of a French Lycée or into the English education system.

All-through school (for example 3-18 years). - An all-through school covers junior and senior education. It may start at 3 or 4, or later, and continue through to 16 or 18. Some all-through schools set exams at 11 or 13 that pupils must pass to move on.

Entrance
Due to the recent opening of new French schools in London, not as oversubscribed as previously. We hear that a maximum of 30 per cent of the places are allocated to children whose parents work for the consortium of French companies that helped to secure the school building. The list of partner companies is available for inspection if required.
Admissions priorities are: siblings (both primary and secondary), children from another official French school (local or abroad), including students following the CNED (the French distance-learning programme), then any miscellany of Francophones fortunate enough to get in.
