Head

Since 2021, Sian Bradshaw, previously head of Ewell Castle. Following BEd (English and drama) at Kingston Hill, had ‘an exciting time’ in a Battersea primary followed by 10 years in a ‘tough’ primary on the Roehampton estate, where she became head of English and of KS2. ‘I loved all the challenges but wanted a change.’ Drawn to the independent sector by an inspiring colleague, she became deputy head at Orchard House before moving to Ewell Castle. Was attracted to Bute House by ‘the non-competitive academic ethos - we don’t stream, we don’t have tables and this must be preserved at all costs.’

Special Education Needs

Our well resourced Learning Enrichment Department supports children with mild learning difficulties and also those who find accessing the curriculum challenging in relation to their peers. Additionally, the most able girls are extended in English and Maths. The children are mainly taught out of the classroom in specialist rooms, in small groups.
