What The Good Schools Guide says..
Emphasis on rote learning and neatness, with a strict French national curriculum and approach. Reading and writing only from year 2. Pupils seem to reach a surprisingly high level of English thanks to some inspirational English teaching; all of the pupils we spoke to slipped easily from one language to another. If pupils had come from schools in France, they appreciated the art and music and sport here...

Bilingual school following the French curriculum with a strong emphasis on language teaching as well as teaching some subjects in English. Streamed small groups and English support groups for beginners. French learning support groups for English speaking pupils.

Admission at all times of the year, not academically selective, priority given to children from French schools (either in France or abroad). French aptitude test if pupils are not from a French school and are over 6 years old, to ensure they will be able to access the curriculum, though children can join the infant section without knowing any French. Some 80 per cent French pupils and a few British, Turkish, Canadian etc. British families choose it if they live locally and want a reasonably priced small school (all the scooters parked up showed evidence of locally living pupils and a sustainable travel plan). This is a French state school though - so not strictly an independent school. Some parents felt that there is a two-tier system with French families given...
