Since 2011, Cressida Mardell BA PGCE. Before joining St David’s in 2007 she was a senior teacher at St Christopher’s School, Epsom. Degree in classics from Royal Holloway College, PGCE from Roehampton. Recently completed ISI inspector training.

Unguarded, fearless and ebullient. Her childhood dream was to become not just a policewoman but the first female commissioner, a role you can imagine her in. Alas, it turned out her eyesight was not on her side – quite a blow at the time, though St David’s owes a debt of gratitude to her history teacher who saved the day by offering her work experience teaching in her own school, aged just 16: ‘I loved it pretty much straight away.’

Special Education Needs

As a non-selective school the children usually join us at the age of three and our educational provision therefore embraces children's needs across the spectrum. Specialist tutors are available for dyslexic and dyspraxic children. Should more specific disabilities be evident then appropriate support would be requested from outside sources and provision made within the restrictions of the building, practical facilities and the effects on the welfare and education of the other children.
