Since 1980, Mr John Connor (70s). Says he has ’no plans to retire.’ Previously head of Hillcrest Grammar, Stockport. Married for 50 years, with four children, two of whom teach at the school. Loves to travel and ski. Founded the school in 1980 to put own educational ideas into practice without constraints from governors. A warm, cheerful man, and parents appreciate his hands-on attitude.
