What the school says...

Founded in 1898, Moorlands School is dedicated to providing a first class education for girls & boys aged 2 to 11 years in a warm, friendly environment.

The school is conveniently located off the Ring Road at Weetwood Lane, yet sat in beautiful grounds providing all the outdoor space (and off road parking) required for children to play in a safe and secure environment. The school boasts of fantastic wrap round care facilities, excellent teaching standards, on site swimming pool and small class sizes.

Alongside an academically rigorous curriculum, Moorlands recognises that children have different interests and strengths and, as such, aims to provide opportunities for all pupils, whether they enjoy academic life, sport, art, ICT, music or drama. Whilst our expectations are high, Moorlands is still very much a school where children can be children.

This approach, with the dedication of a talented staff, has led to children from Moorlands being successfully accepted to their choice of senior schools. We take pride in our track record of successfully preparing our pupils for entry not only to the region’s but the UK’s leading independent day and boarding schools. Many of our pupils excel in entrance examinations and receive scholarships to their chosen destinations.

Please come and see for yourself, our pupils would love to show you round.

What the parents say...

My two sons attend this school and I can't tell you how impressed we are with it. The teaching staff are excellent and both boys are achieving well above the expected level. But the school also emphasises the importance of a well rounded education and there are lots of extra curricular activities for all the children. Whatever your child's strengths they will be well catered for. If you are looking for smart school buildings this may not be for you (the main building is a Victorian mansion house with all the maintenance issues that entails) but if you want a happy friendly school that will still get great results for your children then I can recommend it.

Thank the school

Parents and pupils often have cause to acknowledge the help and support they have received from their schools, for example in helping in the choice of further education or careers. "Say thank you" allows you to send a quick note of appreciation to the school in general or to an individual teacher.

This is a thank you to your school, teacher or careers adviser who helped you to get where you are now.

Please fill in the fields below, which we will transform into a letter of thanks from you to them.

Leave blank if you want to thank the school as a whole

Years you were there

Can be left blank but, if you can, think of a few words that will bring a smile.
