What the school says...
The Firs prides itself on being an independent Primary School which offers your child the chance to explore our diverse curriculum with a sense of wonder and curiosity. This enables them to develop confidence, self-esteem and a strong sense of social responsibility.
Our Christian values underpin the outstanding academic opportunities available here and though faith is important to us, it is not a prerequisite for joining the school. We have high expectations of our pupils, they achieve excellent academic results and move onto various leading secondary schools in the area. ...Read more

Thank the school
Parents and pupils often have cause to acknowledge the help and support they have received from their schools, for example in helping in the choice of further education or careers. "Say thank you" allows you to send a quick note of appreciation to the school in general or to an individual teacher.
This is a thank you to your school, teacher or careers adviser who helped you to get where you are now.
Please fill in the fields below, which we will transform into a letter of thanks from you to them.
Special Education Needs
At The Firs we endeavour to enable every child to reach his or her full potential. An integrated approach to supporting children with specific learning difficulties, such as dyslexia, dyscalculia, co-ordination and other educational needs is one of the hallmarks of the school’s commitment to enabling all pupils to achieve their best. We have a well resourced, self-contained learning support department, staffed by a dedicated special educational needs co-ordinator (SENCo) and a dedicated learning support teaching assistant. They work with teachers and pupils to ensure individual needs are met. Support is provided in the class or in small group sessions and there may be pupils who receive individual tuition depending on their need. Individual Education Programmes are produced for children and additional work is given. Close communication is maintained with parents to ensure the best possible support is provided. Our SENCo also has oversight of those children who are considered exceptionally gifted or talented in some way, and ensures provision is made for them both in the classroom and through additional enrichment days.
