What The Good Schools Guide says..
Motto, ‘dare to be different’, is lived by. ‘Children… need to be seen for and allowed to be who they are,’ says the school. They mean it, too – pupils’ work on display reflects effort as well as results. ‘Peeter [Rabbit] is nortee and they [his sisters, presumably] are not,’ reads one insightful foray into sibling dynamics by a reception pupil. Headmaster
Since 2020, Fergus Llewellyn. Married to Tamsyn, with two young children, both at the school. Previously housemaster at St Andrew’s, Turi, Kenya for five years. Moved to King’s Bruton in 2000 first as an English teacher, then as head of drama and first XI cricket coach, joining Cheltenham College in 2005, becoming head of English in 2008 and senior school housemaster 2010 before being headhunted for Kenyan adventure in 2015. Special Education Needs
Our Learning Enhancement Department can offer support to any child at any stage of the school by way of one-to-one or in-class support. Located in its own building dubbed ‘The Treehouse’ and supported by a team of fully qualified specialist teachers, our aim is to support growth and learning in a safe and fun space. The LED is a key part of the Cumnor ‘team around the child’, which places a high priority on the needs of all children and puts each child at the centre of a graduated approach.
