Since September 2015, Mr James Hanson, previously head of the boys's senior school at the Royal School, Haslemere. Studied maths and zoology at Oxford; MPhil in maths education from Brunel. Ten years at Harrow, where he was senior maths master, head of the G&T programme and of rowing, and deputy housemaster. He is married to Jenny, and they have two daughters.

Special Education Needs
On entry to Aldro, boys are assessed in literacy, numeracy and cognitive skills. Together with this profile and the awareness of the teaching staff, we are able to identify boys presenting with specific learning difficulties. Learning support is offered as 1:1 lessons working from a carefully devised Individual Education Plan detailing targets, strategies and resources to be used. Progress is monitored and reported to parents. The qualified SEN tutors are dedicated to helping each pupil to reach potential and value the involvement of parents towards this goal. 09-09
