What says..

Academics appear to be gentle yet thorough. Already small classes are split into two learning groups for core subjects from year 4 which enables school to go ‘way beyond’ the national curriculum. Pupils enjoy a bespoke and tailored education taught by specialist teachers who, behind the scenes, engage in rigorous and continual assessing and benchmarking. It’s refreshing to see a mixed standard of literacy work displayed on boards along one corridor. Both French and Spanish are taught, and we were most impressed by the...

What the school says...

Coworth Flexlands is Co-ed Independent Prep School & Nursery for children aged from 2½ to 11 years. Nursery starts at the age of 2 ½ and is fully immersed in school life. The school is ideally located in 13 acres of beautiful grounds on the Surrey/Berkshire borders. Nestled in between the villages of Sunningdale, Windlesham and Chobham, you discover a happy, high achieving school where children are inspired and nurtured.
At Coworth Flexlands, there is a culture of happiness with strategies for wellbeing and support, where happier children are healthier, learn better and display more emotional literacy. Inspiring Minds and Nurturing Spirit is at the heart of the school's approach.

Inspiring Minds is an academic approach where pupils are encouraged to develop curiosity through a challenging, investigative curriculum. Through highly specialist teaching led by staff who are passionate and knowledgeable about their curriculum area, pupils show high levels of understanding and attainment. Pupils are well known to staff, and as such, their individual trajectory of progress is carefully planned and monitored. The result of this sees pupils growing at a pace that is right for them.

Nurturing Spirit is the aspect of childhood that brings a smile! This approach focuses on the emotional, physical, social development and spiritual growth needs of a child. Pupils are encouraged to discover what makes them happy and fulfilled.
Beyond the many opportunities offered through the academic programme, the school also provides an enriching range of clubs and activities before, during and after school hours. Pupils are given the opportunity to find what it is that engages them. Talents are nurtured and pupils are encouraged to follow their passions. It is often here where pupils build confidence and discover their strengths and unique qualities. The success of the school approach can be seen at celebration assemblies, where pupils share outstanding achievements, both inside and outside of school in a variety of areas.

Coworth Flexlands, is a school where happiness gets results. Prep pupils are offered places at leading senior schools of their choice with many securing scholarships. The polite confidence and self-assurance pupils take with them is testament to the success of the educational experience provided. The true measure of success is where pupils look back at their school years with fondness, happiness and a bright future ahead.

The school offers the convenience of optional wrap-around care and clubs for busy parents from 7.30am - 6pm and a wide range of on-site holiday activities.

We first met her on our tour of the school – she was teaching maths to year 1. Later we lunched together with the children in the dining hall – they...

Special Education Needs

Coworth Flexlands recognises that all pupils have individual needs, most of which can be met within the normal environment of the classroom. The special needs department aims to identify all children who need special consideration to support their physical, social, emotional or intellectual development. Some children are offered extra support within the classroom. We do not, however, have the provisions to offer highly specialised and intensive treatment.
