A big, bouncy, confident school that won’t appeal to everyone – ‘you need a can-do attitude and belief in yourself helps too,’ said one pupil, although we witnessed them pushing the quieter ones forward too, usually (and cleverly) without them even realising. Sport is taken so seriously by some parents that it’s their sole reason for choosing the school – ‘there’s absolutely no comparison in the area,’ lauded one. Site structure well considered  but pupil largesse does come with inevitable logistical problems, however. Pupils admit...

Special Education Needs

Any decision Danes Hill School makes is child-centred. The school will take all reasonable measures to support a child, making practical adjustments where required to ensure accessibility to the curriculum. They have a Learning Support Department which works in conjunction with the teaching staff and the parents to support, in certain cases, a range of mild difficulties. Before a place is offered at Danes Hill, they carry out an assessment to ensure that children are suited to mainstream school. The most important thing is to ensure every child enjoys life as a pupil at Danes Hill School and can reach their full potential.
