Thank the school

Parents and pupils often have cause to acknowledge the help and support they have received from their schools, for example in helping in the choice of further education or careers. "Say thank you" allows you to send a quick note of appreciation to the school in general or to an individual teacher.

This is a thank you to your school, teacher or careers adviser who helped you to get where you are now.

Please fill in the fields below, which we will transform into a letter of thanks from you to them.

Leave blank if you want to thank the school as a whole

Years you were there

Can be left blank but, if you can, think of a few words that will bring a smile.

Special Education Needs

The Phil Edwards PRU caters for a wide range of permanently excluded pupils at KS3 & KS4 as well as some on a preventative ‘Respite’ placement. Although we are on the mainstream continuum we find ourselves working with increasing numbers of pupils with varying levels of SEN. We offer programmes of GCSE courses for students with Emotional & Behavioural issues at KS4. We also offer intervention and access to Statutory Assessment for pupils with Moderate Learning Difficulties and Behavioural Difficulties. For pupils with specific learning difficulties we offer 1:1 ‘Units of Sound’ support (approved by the BDA). We conduct Annual Reviews for all the pupils with statements for whom we are responsible and work with the LEA, the Educational Psychology Service and other relevant agencies. We are not intended to be a long term provision and wherever possible we seek to reintegrate excluded pupils into mainstream placements or if more appropriate into special education via the Statutory Assessment process. We have a full time re-inclusion mentor who supports the students in their moves towards mainstream or special placements. The students who complete their education at the PRU until the end of KS4, have been very successful in progressing into Further Education, Vocational or A.S. Level courses.
