Pupils all have a diagnosis of Asperger's, autism, or associated difficulties. The school also accepts children with mental health issues, PDA, and attachment issues. Assessments involve visits by the child and family, and taster sessions. As well as looking at the child’s suitability for the school, staff also consider the risks the child poses and their potential impact on the rest of the cohort.
The majority of pupils will start on a phased transition, typically building up to full time attendance over the course of four to six weeks.
