Since 2012, Chris Armond. Degree from Leeds in physical education followed by a NPQH. Started career as a PE teacher in mainstream but liked the more challenging children so started working in the evenings at a residential EBD school. ‘I got a buzz out of working with these children.’ Spent a year in the US as a soccer coach before returning to the UK as a PE teacher at a residential BESD school in Lincolnshire. Has worked in all three BESD senior schools in Lincolnshire before getting first headship at The Lady Jane Franklin. Initially appointed as acting head, arrived as a troubleshooter after allegations made in 2012 against some staff, all unsubstantiated and no charges brought. Turned the school around by appointing new staff, losing others and keeping excellent ones. Made head in September...
