What the school says...

Described as a school for the 'Educationally Delicate", Frederick Hugh House is an independent primary school in Chelsea, for children with moderate learning delays. I caters for children who fail to thrive in mainstream but for whom a traditional mixed cohort special needs school would not be suitable. Max 8 per class. Each class will have a teacher, a learning support assistant and exceptionally good access to a range of in house therapy services. The school will take children with or without a statement of Special Educational Needs. New school opened January 2010. Not yet registered with the DCSF. At present only a primary school but intend to extend to age 18.

At Frederick Hugh House we provide an individualised educational, therapeutic and social programme for each of our children. We have adopted a whole school approach to speech and language therapy, physiotherapy and occupational therapy. Our in-house therapists collaborate continuously with all our teaching staff to ensure that each child is constantly and consistently having their needs met and their individual goals targeted throughout every aspect of the school day. In addition children work with our therapists in whole class, small group and 1:1 settings, depending on their individual needs.

Our innovative, specialised facilities, the likes of which do not exist elsewhere, considerably enhance our holistic approach to teaching and learning. Not only do we have a designated ICT room, science lab, library, physiotherapy, occupational therapy and speech and language therapy rooms we have an interactive, multi-sensory theatre which takes the experience of learning to a whole new level.

Thank the school

Parents and pupils often have cause to acknowledge the help and support they have received from their schools, for example in helping in the choice of further education or careers. "Say thank you" allows you to send a quick note of appreciation to the school in general or to an individual teacher.

This is a thank you to your school, teacher or careers adviser who helped you to get where you are now.

Please fill in the fields below, which we will transform into a letter of thanks from you to them.

Leave blank if you want to thank the school as a whole

Years you were there

Can be left blank but, if you can, think of a few words that will bring a smile.
