What the school says...

Bishopstrow College is an independent international boarding School for students wishing to enter top UK independent schools. We provide intensive English language and academic pathway programmes covering Key Stages 2, 3 and 4, to prepare international students, aged 7-17, for boarding school entry. The College also provides individually tailored programmes to assist international students with applications, entrance examinations and interviews to UK schools, as well as Cambridge English Language Assessment qualifications.

The Junior College, Middle College and Senior College Programmes follow National Curriculum in Key Stages 2, 3 and 4 with a four term entry in September, January, March and June.

Our 1 Year IGCSE Programme offers up to 8 examinable subjects and is an excellent preparation for students before they begin their A Level studies or the IB Diploma Programme at a mainstream school. Results are strong with 43% of candidates achieving A*-A Grades at IGCSE in 2022, together with exceptional results in the Cambridge English Language Assessment examinations.

A new teaching and learning facility - The Henson Building - opened in 2014, providing an excellent learning environment, incorporating 8 classrooms, a science lab, IT suite, library and multi-activity room, as well as being a light and spacious building. Barrow House, the main boarding house has been up-graded to include more en-suite rooms; meanwhile, two new boarding houses situated across the road from the main campus, were added in 2018.

UK Independent Schools’ Entry Test

Please note: Independent schools frequently offer IGCSEs or other qualifications alongside or as an alternative to GCSE. The DfE does not record performance data for these exams so independent school GCSE data is frequently misleading; parents should check the results with the schools.
