What the school says...
At Nishkam Primary School, we are privileged to have caring children, a beautiful building, supportive parents, committed governing body and staff whose efforts are underpinned by the drive to see every child succeed. The primary purpose of the school is the drive for academic excellence. This is exceptionally important in our aspirations for pupils to exceed national standards. This academic success is based on meeting the holistic needs of children. We believe an outstanding education and a sense of moral purpose based on core values, are the greatest gifts that we can give our children in preparation to be future leaders, responsible citizens and lifelong learners.
The school offers the full range of National Curriculum subjects. This is further enriched through faith and language studies. A wide range of extra-curricular experiences, both during and after school enable us to nurture the interests and talents of our pupils.
The philosophy of education at Nishkam School is to provide rich and meaningful experiences through a teaching and learning based on enquiry, creative and critical thinking, reasoning, self-awareness and empathy. We embrace the rich resource of the community to provide active and vibrant learning opportunities and develop in children, aspirations, skills, attitudes and dispositions for the 21st century.
Our faith-inspired values define the character of education. Worshipping collectively is an important feature of the School. We welcome parents as equal partners in their childs education and feel this is crucial to our success.
The school should be designed to be a warm friendly place with a homelike environment, where parental involvement is high.' Rudolf Steiner
