What the school says...

A sound education and learning should be rewarding, enjoyable and carefully structured if individuals are to reach their full potential. Children placed with The Lioncare Group have their learning needs carefully assessed on a regular basis and their personal education plans carefully implemented to ensure their best possible outcomes.

Attendance is positively encouraged and assisted where necessary, homework, internet access and extracurricular activity is fully supported, and effective open communication between parents / carers and education staff is valued and maintained at a high level.
Education and learning is a fundamental component in the life experience of a child, and in The Lioncare Group we view the processes of living-and-learning as being inextricably linked.

The children referred to The Lioncare Group commonly present with a wide range of complex emotional and educational needs. We have made huge investments of time, resources energy to ensure that they are offered the best possible opportunities to develop their true academic and educational potentials and navigate the obstacles that have coloured their previous experiences of education and learning. We are able to meet the emotional-educational needs of the children attending our school through the use of accurate assessment of educational needs at the referral stage followed by planning and securing the placement in an appropriate educational settings. We establish and maintain strong positive links with mainstream schools and colleges within the local area that are sensitive to and understanding of the needs of the children in our care, and with local specialist schools and colleges that are set-up to support children with learning difficulties. We provide on-going and consistent monitoring and pro-active support of the childs progress throughout their time with us.

The childrens achievements are recognised and applauded, and the children are given encouragement to take pride in their achievements. We ensure that regular dialogue is maintained with teachers, the child, and all relevant others to ensure that any learning or other difficulties a child is experiencing are identified at an early stage and that plans are made for dealing with them.

We are committed to supporting every child's education and have been consistently commended on this by relevant agencies and others. We place enormous importance on the ethos of creating an environment in which children and young people are 'living-to-learn and learning-to-live'.
